County Youth Survey Reports

The County Youth Survey Reports are based on the county of residence reported by students completing the survey. In reviewing these reports, it must be remembered that the data portray the behaviors, attitudes, beliefs, and perceptions of students residing in your county. However, it was found that in every county, a varying number of students resided in one county while attending school in a neighboring county. Thus in reviewing the responses that relate to schools, it should be remembered that most likely some of the responses will reflect the conditions perceived in a school located in another county and not necessarily the perceptions relating to the school(s) located in your county.
A statistical weighting procedure was used in the county reports to reduce
the possibility of biases due to any significant discrepancy between the
proportion of 11th grade students and the other grades who took part in
the youth surveys. Please refer to each report for a description of the
weighting procedure used in that survey year.
Reports are available for all ninety-nine Iowa counties.
*The constructs for Parental/Guardian Boundaries and Gambling were revised by the Consortium in June 2009.
